Jack Fishman’s law practice is based upon his varied experiences as an IRS Special Agent for over twenty-five years and his tax controversy law practice of over ten years. The following is a listing of just some of the areas he represents his clients in their dealings with the Internal Revenue Service, the various state revenue agencies and the US Attorney’s Office:
Criminal Investigations and prosecutions
Audits
Collection actions
Jeopardy Assessments
Termination Assessments
Offers In Compromise
Collection Due Process Hearings
U S Tax Court
Jack is frequently asked if he prepares tax returns. The IRS views anyone who prepares a tax return (including attorneys) as a return preparer and that individual has NO privileged relationship with the client in a criminal case. Jack utilizes only accredited accountants under a “Kovel Letter” to prepare tax returns for his clients.
